Creative and Performing Arts


Drama offers our students the opportunity to develop expressive skills and to convey ideas and feelings through dramatic action. Based on improvisation and playbuilding, courses are designed to develop students’ skills and confidence through performances to peers as well as local primary schools, parents and members of the public.


Turramurra High School is renowned for its exceptional music groups and offers students a wide variety of musical studies. The school has excellent, highly trained specialist music staff and enviable facilities including equipment for music composition using the latest software and computers.

The Music Department offers many extra-curricular opportunities for our many talented musicians. These currently include three concert bands, two stage bands and a choir.

Visual Arts

Visual Arts as a subject provides for various interpretations of the visual arts in the areas of art, craft and design. The subject is sustained through practical and theoretical practise within a framework which forms the basis for content and accommodates a wide range of student ability.

The knowledge, understanding, skills and values gained from the subject assist students in building conceptual and practical skills which can be applied in art, craft, design and related to careers in a real world context.


Turramurra High school is one of the few high schools on the north shore offering elective Dance from year 9 through to HSC level. Our facilities include a dance theatre with a fully sprung floor. Our expert Dance teacher offers a wealth of skill and expertise and access to skilled dance teachers and choreographers from our wider school community.
