Our highly successful Peer Support program provides our school community with a student led approach to enhance the social and emotional development and wellbeing of our students.
Our Year 10 peer mentors are carefully selected and trained to ensure that their Year 7 buddies transition smoothly and happily into the High School environment. The activities led by the student mentors build positive relationships, encourage participation and assist younger students in taking personal responsibility and embracing lifelong learning. All activities are designed to encourage students to work collaboratively and support one another.
The 21st century learning skills developed by the Peer Support Program at Turramura High include resilience, effective communication, planning, conflict resolution, values clarification and problem solving.
Our Peer Support Program also supports complementary educational initiatives at Turramurra High School such as pastoral care, student wellbeing and our Positive Behaviour Engaging Learners program.
